Transcript of: Flooding woes continue in waterlogged N.J.
TRISH REGAN, anchor: We begin in northern New Jersey , where some towns are bracing for possible evacuations today as rain-swollen rivers are expected to crest this morning. The Weather Channel 's Eric Fisher is in Little Falls . Good morning, Eric .
ERIC FISHER reporting: Good morning, Trish . This is what melting snow and nearly eight inches of rain over the course of a week can do. This, the mighty Passaic River as it charges down towards the Atlantic Ocean , still in major flood stage and still causing widespread problems in places like Little Falls , New Jersey , where we are this morning. There is some good news, we crested on the Passaic River , just a couple of hours ago, and now the water, it's starting to go dawn. It's going to be a long process, not expected to go below major flood stage until Tuesday morning. At that point, finally, some of these families will be able to get back into their homes, but, for today, the water level will stay very high; folks will still be out of their neighborhoods; and many roads, dozens, will be closed throughout the day. It's just been a tough time, will continue to be a tough time here in northern New Jersey . Trish , back to you.
REGAN: OK. The Weather Channel 's Eric Fisher , thank you very much .
