COLUMBIA, Md., March 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integral Systems, Inc., (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced today that it will be demonstrating the power of its comprehensive Situational Awareness (SA) capabilities at the 2011 SATELLITE Conference. Using Integral Systems' Webic™, web-based integrated client, users can easily integrate diverse external data sources to provide highly deployable, dynamic, anywhere, anytime, real-time situational awareness for space and ground systems.

Webic is an integrated platform for situational awareness and control of SATCOM performance systems. Designed to be simple to deploy, use and manage, Webic provides real-time data from Integral Systems' best of breed solutions, third-party products and web-based external sources. Using a standards-based browser, users can access information from any Windows, Linux or Mac computer, as well as industry leading tablets and mobile platforms, such as the iPad, iPhone, iTouch and equivalent Android devices. In addition, authorized users can quickly make controlled changes to the system in real-time through Webic's easy to use and navigate GUI.

"Webic provides operators instant access to critical, real-time data from multiple sources in a single integrated operations environment, empowering the user to dynamically make changes on the fly," said James Kramer, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Civil and Commercial Group at Integral Systems. "As demand for global satellite and terrestrial communications continues to grow, having a complete picture of the satellite and ground system environment is crucial to ensure network efficiency, Quality of Service (QoS) and end-user satisfaction."

Webic supports multi-source display, providing updated information to a number of different users. New data sources can be easily added to the interface by accessing a data source registry. Webic is enterprise-ready and integrates with middleware solutions, including NASA's GMSEC bus. In addition to data source extensions, new visualization objects providing additional graphical or special purpose rendering can be added to Webic. User interface extensions can be created and tailored to a specific data source.

To showcase the power of its fully integrated commercial SA capabilities, Integral Systems is featuring a broad, multi-faceted demonstration at this week's 2011 SATELLITE Conference, booth 557. The integrated demonstration gives operators real-time status of space and ground support assets, space environment, site weather and other relevant information.
