The new Epicureanist Trilux Wine Aerator is available in May 2011 and offers capabilities never before seen in an aerator.
Epicureanist's Trilux boasts the ability to properly aerate wine utilizing unique, adjustable aeration levels. Unlike other aerators currently available, Trilux's patent-pending design features an aeration plate that can be adjusted to three different levels; high aeration, medium aeration, and low aeration.
The Trilux's ability to aerate at different levels makes it easy to expose the full potential (aromas and flavors) of wine. For example, a younger, more tannic red may need to breathe more air to enhance its flavors and would be best served using the high aeration level; while an older wine may require less air and therefore taste better served using the low aeration level.
In addition to customized aeration, the Trilux's design allows the aerator to rest easily atop wine glasses and decanters, eliminating the need to use both hands while aerating wine.
The inventive Trilux is designed by Epicureanist Vice President, India Hynes. "When we launched Epicureanist we made it our goal to offer quality products that are creative, affordable, time-saving and useful," says Hynes. "Proper aeration is crucial when it comes to getting the most from your wine, so to ensure our customers receive the best product possible, I took it upon myself to design our own aerator."
In addition to the ability to customize wine aeration, the Trilux's clever design makes it as easy to use as it is to clean. Simply select the aeration level by holding the aerator grip with one hand and rotating the aerator with the other. Place the aerator holder over the wine glass, and then place the aerator upright in the middle of the aerator holder; slowly pour the wine into the aerator, let it breath, and enjoy. Rinse all parts after use with water and/or mild soap, and always store the Trilux on the base provided.
