Northfield Bancorp, Inc. Announces Appointment of Steven M. Klein to Chief Operating Officer

AVENEL, N.J., March 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northfield Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:NFBK), and its subsidiary, Northfield Bank, announced the expansion of the responsibilities of Steven M. Klein and his appointment to Chief Operating Officer. In addition, Mr. Klein will retain his responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer.

AVENEL, N.J., March 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northfield Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:NFBK), and its subsidiary, Northfield Bank, announced the expansion of the responsibilities of Steven M. Klein and his appointment to Chief Operating Officer. In addition, Mr. Klein will retain his responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Klein joined Northfield as Chief Financial Officer in March 2005. Previously, Mr. Klein was an audit partner with KPMG LLP serving the community banking practices of New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Mr. Klein earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business and accounting from Montclair State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member and serves on various committees of the New Jersey Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association. Mr. Klein also serves as a Trustee of the CentraState Healthcare System and as a director of the Middlesex Water Company.
