CORONA DEL MAR, Calif., March 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ActionView International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AVEW) today provided additional information on the previously announced WCFC title event. The single elimination tournament has been set for May 28th in Salt Lake City and will feature sixteen of the top professionals in the 155-pound weight class. The WCFC title belt will be given to the winner of the tournament in a process that harkens back to the early days of mixed martial arts. The athletes participating in the tournament will be by invitation only with the expectation of getting the best athletes available as they vie for the right to be called "WCFC Champion."

"There are so many great fighters at 155," explained Joe Wooten, CEO of WCFC's parent company, ActionView International, on the reasons for holding a tournament to determine the WCFC champion as well as starting in the lightweight class.  "As a weight class, it is one of the most exciting—combining knock out power with lightning speed.  Nationwide, the field is very deep, so we expect to have no problems filling the tournament with seasoned professionals at the top of their game.  We felt it was too arbitrary to rank that many athletes and set up a championship fight based purely on record.  A sixteen-man tournament will give all of the best fighters an equal opportunity to fight for the belt and the right to call themselves the WCFC Champion."

The tournament format will feature one, five minute round in each bracket with the winner receiving a payout while also advancing and with the loser being eliminated. The tournament winner will therefore have fought and beaten four different opponents. Mr. Wooten added, "We hope that the format will encourage fighters to go in the cage and leave it all there. They have five minutes to impress the judges, get a submission, or get a knockout. There isn't time to dance around, clinch, catch your breath, or grapple without getting results. We expect to see a lot of strikes and a lot of takedowns since that's where the points are won, which, in the end, makes for an exciting fight."

In keeping with the WCFC commitment to bringing mixed martial arts to the masses, the entire tournament will be broadcast live, in television quality, over the internet to a worldwide audience on the company's website: . Tickets for the event are available online at , and at SmithsTix locations.
