CHICAGO, March 23, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The John Marshall Law School is reducing tuition through its Alumni Advantage Program to make the Chicago law school's graduate LL.M. degree programs more affordable for qualified alumni.

The John Marshall Law School has one of the most comprehensive selections of LL.M. programs in the Midwest. Alumni who have earned a J.D. degree can enhance their marketability, expand their area of practice or invest in their professional growth by earning a specialty degree in Employee Benefits, Information Technology and Privacy Law, Intellectual Property Law, International Business and Trade Law, Real Estate Law or Tax Law. Several courses are offered as on-line courses.

Alumni also can choose to earn a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Elder Law, Intellectual Property Law, International Human Rights Law or Trial Advocacy.

"The economic downturn has posed challenges for both recent law school graduates as well as experienced practitioners," said the law school's dean, John E. Corkery. "We see these difficult times as an opportunity for us to help our alumni become more valuable to their employers and clients, or to prepare for new career paths."

The program is open to John Marshall alumni who have graduated in the past five years. For example, Tania McCants, who earned a J.D. in 2009, and an LLM degree in International Business and Trade Law in 2010, is now enrolled in the LLM program for Employee Benefits. The 50 percent reduction in tuition "made it more affordable for me," she said.

Selected online graduate law courses also are available.
