The quilts and pillows, supplied by Soaringwords, were individually decorated by Northrop Grumman employee volunteers with messages and illustrations meant to inspire children suffering from chronic or serious illness. On March 7, a group of company volunteers delivered the quilts and pillows to children at St. Alexius to show their support for the children and their families.

"Northrop Grumman is committed to serving our surrounding community through a variety of outreach efforts," said Jeff Palombo, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Land and Self Protection Systems Division. "This is the first time we have worked with Soaringwords locally and we are excited to bring encouragement through inspirational quilts and pillows to these children. This truly has been a moving experience for everyone involved."

"Each year, 22 million children in the U.S. suffer from chronic or serious illness. These meaningful gifts inspire ill children and their families to 'never give up,'" said Lisa Honig Buksbaum, CEO and Founder of Soaringwords.
