LOD, Israel and PARIS, April 4, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AudioCodes (Nasdaq:AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, today announced it is working with Alcatel-Lucent through its Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program (AAPP) to re-enforce their collaboration on delivering secure voice network solutions.

The integration of AudioCodes' Mediant family of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) with Alcatel-Lucent SIP solutions for enterprises, including OpenTouch™ Business Edition and the OmniPCX™ Enterprise Communication Server, provides enterprises with the security, session mediation and service level assurance required to connect to SIP service providers and to connect remote users to enterprise SIP applications, while maintaining interoperability and manageability.

E-SBCs also enable employees or partners who are not on the premises to fully benefit from Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch™ My Teamwork Conferencing and Collaboration solutions featuring presence, instant messaging, audio, video and web conferencing in a secure way.

"Mid-sized businesses want more innovative multimedia communications for their employees and partners while on-site or off-site. Migrating telephony access to SIP will enable them to enjoy cost savings and benefit from new multimedia collaboration services. By providing enhanced security, quality assurance and SIP mediation, Enterprise SBC will accelerate the seamless and secure migration of mid-sized enterprises to SIP Trunking," said Nicolas De Kouchkovsky, CMO of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

"We are very pleased to be a part of the Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program and be selected as Alcatel-Lucent's E-SBC of choice for mid-sized businesses, supporting a vision of openness and connectivity," stated Nimrod Borovsky, Vice President of Marketing at AudioCodes. "Our E-SBCs provide Alcatel-Lucent customers capabilities such as perimeter defense, SIP normalization and transcoding which are necessary in facilitating SIP Trunking services and connectivity with Microsoft Unified Communications platforms."

The Mediant E-SBCs will be joining the list of existing tested interoperability between AudioCodes products -- including the MediaPack 11x and 20x VoIP Gateways and the Mediant 600, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 Media Gateways – and Alcatel-Lucent solutions such as OmniPCX Enterprise, Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office™, as well as the Genesys™ SIP Server.
