(Nasdaq:GKNT), the online network for the global geek community, today announced that it has named Carol DiBattiste as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer. Her responsibilities will also include managing the Company's Human Resources function.
Ms. DiBattiste has previously held a number of senior level private and public sector positions. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President – Privacy and Security at Reed Elsevier, Inc., the parent company of LexisNexis. Prior to that, she was General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at ChoicePoint, which was acquired by Reed Elsevier in 2008. Her public service has included executive roles as Under Secretary of the Air Force, Deputy Administrator at the Transportation Security Administration, principal Deputy General Counsel of the Navy, Deputy United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys at the Department of Justice. She also served on active duty in the Air Force.
