NEW YORK, April 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Empire Sports and Entertainment Holdings Co. (OTCBB:EXCX), a promoter of entertainment and sports events, together with Concert International, proudly announced today that single day tickets for the Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney performances at the 2nd annual Capital Hoedown festival are sold out.

Capital Hoedown debuted last summer with much success and this year's festival is expected to be the largest country music festival in North America. With the new location LeBreton Flats Park and 45,000 people anticipated per day, VIP tickets, which are limited and cost only $250 for the entire three days, are also expected to sell out quickly. Additionally, 3-day general admission passports are $175 and a limited number of single day tickets are still available for Rascal Flatts.

Carrie Underwood has emerged as one of the most popular female performers in country music today. Her debut album, Some Hearts (2005), was certified triple platinum, making it the fastest-selling female country album since the introduction of the Nielsen SoundScan in 1991. Her first single, "Inside Your Heaven," hit the top of the Billboard charts. On May 10, 2008, at the age of 26, Underwood was inducted as the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry by country star Garth Brooks.

In September 2008, Underwood received two more CMA award nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Carnival Ride. Underwood also hosted the award show along with fellow country star Brad Paisley, winning the Female Vocalist of the Year award for the third consecutive time.

With years of hard work and dedication, Kenny Chesney has become one of the biggest stars in country music and one of the most successful touring acts in any genre of popular music. In 1997, Chesney took home his first major award by winning the Top New Male Vocalist trophy from the Academy of Country Music.

That same year he released his third album for BNA, I Will Stand. The album's first single, "She's Got It All," became the first of 17 No. 1 hits he would enjoy over the next ten years. Three additional singles charted well from the album, including "A Chance," "That's Why I'm Here" and "I Will Stand."

The entertainment lineup for Capital Hoedown 2011 includes Kenny Chesney, Doc Walker, Tara Oram, and others TBA performing on Thursday, August 11, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Billy Currington and others TBA performing on Friday, August 12 and Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Easton Corbin, Justin Moore, The Keats, and others TBA performing on Saturday, August 13.
