A Scott Peterson billboard?

A bad move by San Francisco radio station KNEW.  The station has put up two huge billboards of murder suspect Scott Peterson in his orange prison uniform, asking if he's "man or monster."

The station also asks folks to call in and vote on his guilt or innocence.  And what makes this stunt questionable is that the billboards were erected along Highway 101, near the Redwood City California courthouse, which is where Peterson‘s trial has been moved to try to get an impartial jury.  Justice may be blind, but it‘s not when you‘re driving down the highway.

And, to make matters worse, the station put up another billboard showing its innocent-guilty vote total, put it on a flatbed truck and drove it around the courthouse for several days.  The radio station says it is going to pull the billboards down, but it doesn‘t know when.  Needless to say, Peterson‘s lawyer, Mark Geragos, is outraged over the billboards, saying Redwood city is more even hostile than Modesto, California, where the trial was moved from.

Peterson‘s mother has called the billboards cruel.  And the prosecutor says “They are totally inappropriate.” This may be a first: The trial hasn‘t even started and here‘s one thing the defense and prosecution agree on.
