A 6-year-old flower girl has been killed and two bridesmaids injured when their car was hit head-on by another vehicle as they drove to a wedding in North Carolina.
Kindergartner Ava Kendall was killed Saturday when the other vehicle crossed the center line. The car's driver and front-seat passenger, both bridesmaids, remained hospitalized Monday.
The wedding was for Ava's babysitter, who ran to the scene from the venue in Greenville and collapsed after hearing about it.
The driver of the other vehicle, 39-year-old Mupin Wu Cummings of Pinetops, was in serious condition two days after the accident. Highway Patrol Trooper David Swanson said prosecutors are considering charging Cummings.
The vivacious, red-haired flower girl was being remembered for her love of cowboy boots and the color pink.
