WeedMaps Media gross income exceeded $780,000 in March, up from $620,000 in February and $530,000 in January. This compares with $182,000 in March, 2010. WeedMaps Media is the largest dispensary finder site and online medical marijuana community in the US.
WeedMaps Media increased its client base to over 1,800 dispensaries in March throughout the 15 medical cannabis friendly states. This is up from 1,200 dispensaries in January, 2011 and approximately 800 dispensaries in January, 2010.
Over 62,000 items are now available to review on the WeedMaps Media proprietary database. The database is the most extensive and largest in the world for fully searchable dispensary items. Patients can search a dispensary's products by price, name and product type via the Medical Marijuana Strain Exchange. The number of items searchable is up from 31,000 in January, 2011, and 1,000 items when the database started in the first quarter of 2010.
In addition to searchable menu items, WeedMaps.com also offers DailyDeals and Weedfreebies.com. DailyDeals provides discount coupons on behalf of dispensaries where patients can save up to 50% at participating dispensary locations via SMS text message or e-mail blast. Weedmaps' DailyDeals received over 10,000 subscribers for its coupon program less than 30 days after its initial launch.
WeedFreebies is a contest held twice a day on Weedfreebies.com where patients compete for prizes through an original flash-based web game. The recently revamped and upgraded backend interface has allowed Freebies to surge traffic In March to over 400,000 page views, up from approximately 300,000 page views in February.
WeedMaps Media announces the hiring of 11 employees to the sales team since January. This is a direct result of the increasing number of dispensaries opening in the existing medical cannabis friendly states, new states coming online, and an increasing variety of products and services offered to dispensaries by WeedMaps Media, including new dispensary tour video packages.
