Ivan Kaspersky, the son of Russian software giant Yevgeny Kaspersky has gone missing in Moscow, and according to media reports, may have been kidnapped.

The elder Kaspersky — founder of the world-renowned security software company that bears his name — made his fortune developing anti-virus software.

According to a report on the BBC's website, authorities, including Russia's secret service, have been searching for Kaspersky for at least two days.

According to its own sources, Russian news website Life News reports that the kidnappers are demanding nearly $4.3 million for the 20-year-old's safe return.

When contacted by a Russian newspaper, Kaspersky Lab said it could neither confirm nor deny the report.

The company is ranked 32nd on Fast Company's list of the world's 50 most innovative companies, and Yevgeny Kaspersky is among some of the richest Russian businessmen, with his fortune estimated near $800 million.
