Searchers have found an item they think belongs to a Tennessee woman missing for nearly two weeks, but investigators aren't saying what it is.

Investigators had planned to call off the volunteer ground searches for Holly Bobo soon, but discovered something Sunday afternoon that changed their minds, NBC affiliate WSMV-TV reported.

A Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman said Monday it is unlikely the item found in the hunt for the 20-year-old nursing student will be described publicly unless investigators decide there is reason to do so.

Bobo was last seen being led away from her rural home April 13 by a man wearing camouflage clothing.

TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm said investigators are "pretty sure" the item found in the ongoing search belongs to Bobo but it's not certain it will help.

An $80,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

"It makes you feel great — Easter Sunday and finding some good information," said Bobo family spokesperson Kevin Bromely. "Hopefully we can expand the search and find out more tomorrow."

Holly's parents, Dana and Karen Bobo, had wanted to thank those volunteers and officials face-to-face Sunday. They made it to the search headquarters parking lot, the TV station reported.

"Dana and Karen thought they could come and talk to the volunteers, to thank them and talk to them some," said Bromely. "But it's just too much, too hard."

Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Brad Wilbanks said Friday that about 500 volunteers were searching a more narrowly defined area after authorities ruled out territory that has been thoroughly examined for any evidence.
