HERNDON, Va., April 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ePlus inc. (Nasdaq:PLUS), a leading provider of technology solutions, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ePlus Systems, inc., has unveiled a new version of its eProcurement solution, Procure+ 7.

Incorporating a completely redesigned graphical user interface and navigation, Procure+ 7 launches a new paradigm in procurement intelligence, providing users of the application with the information they need to facilitate better decision making at every step in the procurement process.

For example, a procurement intelligence dashboard can be customized by user type, so requisitioners have direct access to a dashboard with the information they need, which can include a complete analysis of activity and purchase history.

Tactical buyers, tasked with day-to-day ordering, have access to customized dashboards that can show all of their current purchasing activities, including open orders, overdue orders, open invoices, non-matched invoices, open requisitions and requests for quotes, and other available information customized to their role or corporate requirements.

For strategic buyers, who lead the process of sourcing and contract negotiations, other dashboards and analytics are available, such as supplier performance measurement, spend by commodity, and other metrics that are normally found outside of the mainstream eProcurement solution, such as add-on spend analysis software.

In addition, pop-up windows, more sophisticated searching techniques, and a complete ad-hoc business intelligence (BI) technology also help to deliver required information for all user types, when and where it's needed.

"This new version has been enhanced considerably," said Ken Farber, president of ePlus Systems and Content Services. "We have deployed advanced business intelligence technology and tools right into the application. As a result, Procure+ 7 is able to utilize current and historical data and provide analytics to users when and where they need it, including at the point of making a buying decision. In addition, the dashboards and other components support the full range of users, from the casual shopper or tactical buyer to the strategic sourcing professional."

"We've been using ePlus' Procure+ for over eight years, and what's kept us as a loyal customer is that the system's functionality and usability has grown with us," said William (Bill) Portuese, senior director of procurement for UGL Services.  "This latest version is a great example of the value ePlus brings to our company. I see great benefits to us from my preview, including procurement intelligence and functional enhancements. My procurement team and I, as well as the requisitioners we support, will benefit from this intuitive, simple-to-use product that will produce the right level of information when we need it. This release will take us to the next level of procurement to make the best sourcing and buying decisions possible."

"The business intelligence technology is integrated into Procure+ 7 as part of the application," Farber continued.  "We believe all our customers can use procurement intelligence to reduce costs, make better purchasing decisions, and improve human productivity."

Procure+ 7 was showcased to existing customers at the ePlus Customer Conference, March 9-11, 2011 in Orlando, Florida and will be shown at other events in the next several weeks.
