PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., May 5, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aceto Corporation (Nasdaq:ACET), a global leader in the sourcing, quality assurance, regulatory support, marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, specialty chemicals and crop protection products, today announced that Salvatore Guccione has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Guccione currently serves as an Operating Partner at Arsenal Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm based in New York. As Operating Partner, he is responsible for setting the strategy for, and executing upon, strategic acquisitions in the specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical product or service sectors.
Mr. Guccione's career includes almost twenty-five years of investing and operating experience in the specialty chemicals and healthcare industries. He has spent most of those years in senior level management positions with three US-based, international manufacturing and service companies – WIL Research Laboratories, Cambrex Corporation and International Specialty Products. He has been instrumental in planning, building and managing several specialty chemical and pharmaceutical/FDA-regulated businesses in active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical research services and biotechnology products/services. Mr. Guccione holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
