BELLEVUE, Wash., May 13, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Motricity (Nasdaq:MOTR) today announced it has named Chuck Scullion as the Chief Strategy and Administrative Officer. In his role, Mr. Scullion will lead the company's Strategy, Corporate Development, Human Resources, Procurement, Integration & Acquisition Planning and Facilities Operations.

"We're thrilled to be adding someone of Chuck's caliber to our executive team," said Ryan Wuerch, chief executive officer of Motricity. "His extensive experience with business strategy development along with his deep knowledge of the global mobile data services industry makes him a natural fit for Motricity. Mr. Scullion comes to Motricity from the Boston Consulting Group where he was a Partner and Managing Director in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice area.  In addition, he was part of the firm's Americas Leadership team, and also responsible for BCG's North and South America Organization Practice. Throughout his 13 year career at the Boston Consulting Group, Chuck advised numerous clients on business strategy, go-to-market initiatives, operational improvements and post-merger integrations. Prior to the Boston Consulting Group, Chuck was in leadership with Procter & Gamble and is a graduate from Harvard Business School.

"For over a decade, I've helped companies deliver innovative solutions at the business and operational level. Now, I'm excited to use that experience to help drive immediate and long-term business strategies for Motricity," said Scullion. "Motricity has established an exciting position in the mobile data ecosystem and is poised for strong growth. I look forward to working with Ryan and the executive leadership team to further develop and drive the company's broad agenda to bring mobile Internet offerings to their operator, brand and agency customers."

In other organizational news, Jim Ryan, Motricity's Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, will immediately assume the role of Chief Development Officer. While Jim will continue to oversee all marketing functions, he will now be more keenly focused on driving business growth and development for the company's global operator, brand and agency customer base.
