QUEBEC CITY, May 24, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EXFO Inc. (Nasdaq:EXFO) (TSX:EXF) announced today its participation at International FTTH Council Asia-Pacific Conference & Exhibition 2011 (booth 7), May 25-26, 2011, in New Delhi, India, where it will demonstrate numerous FTTH network test solutions designed to help field technicians in their daily tasks.

At the event, EXFO will present some of its innovative FTTH test solutions, among which is the newly launched intelligent Optical Link Mapper (iOLM), an intelligent OTDR-based test solution that enables faster FTTx network characterization. Powered by patent-pending Link-Aware™ technology, the iOLM can launch and analyze multiple acquisitions, and then compile and interpret the results—all within seconds via one click.

FTTH Council APAC 2011 is also the ideal venue to showcase EXFO's ConnectorMax Analysis Software. Faulty connectors being the number one cause of link-deployment problems, ConnectorMax is the first platform-based software for pass/fail assessment of connector endfaces. In short, it enables technicians to get clear-cut pass/fail verdicts right on-site, preventing additional truck rolls to re-inspect and re-assess the same connector. ConnectorMax is compatible with any of EXFO's FIP-400 Fiber Inspection Probe, which will also be in demonstration at the event. EXFO will also display its other FTTH test solutions, from installation to troubleshooting.

"When FTTH was first deployed, EXFO was there to test it—namely by pioneering the simultaneous upstream/downstream measurement technique via a pass-through connection," said Étienne Gagnon, EXFO's Vice-President, Wireline Division and Corporate Marketing. "Building on our first-mover advantage, EXFO has worked with leading network operators around the world to develop an industry-leading expertise and design a strong FTTH portfolio tailored to the different needs and realities that operators face. Our new iOLM innovative solution, demonstrated at FTTH Council APAC 2011, attests to this reality."
