(Nasdaq:ENTG), a leading supplier of products and components used in semiconductor manufacturing and other demanding technology production environments, announced that former U.S. Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns has joined the Company's Board of Directors.

Nicholas Burns is currently Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Kennedy's School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

In addition, he currently is Director of the Aspen Strategy Group and Senior Counselor at the Cohen Group, and serves on the Advisory Board for Veracity Worldwide. 

Nicholas Burns served in the United States Foreign Service for twenty-seven years until his retirement in April 2008. He was Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (2005 to 2008), was U.S. Ambassador to NATO (2001 to 2005), and served as U.S. Ambassador to Greece (1997 to 2001). Prior to that, Ambassador Burns served as State Department Spokesman for Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Warren Christopher (1995 to 1997), and served five years at the White House as a member of the National Security Council staff on Soviet and then Russian affairs.

Burns holds a BA in History from Boston College and a MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
