BEIJING, June 13, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CSOFT International Ltd., a leading provider of multilingual localization, testing, terminology management, and software development for the global market, kicked off its 8th Annual World Localization Summit on June 8 at the company's World Headquarters in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District. Alongside CSOFT's global team of localization experts, the annual two-day conference featured speakers from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Comtech Services, and Geller Translation Solutions, as well as guest appearances from Huawei, Lenovo, Halliburton and Cisco.

"Our annual summit is the perfect opportunity for like-minded individuals and businesses across industries to share ideas, engage in discussion and shape the future of the localization industry," said Shunee Yee, CEO of CSOFT International, Ltd. "It was a great week of professional education mixed with cultural exchange as we brought our global team together from around the world."

This year's summit brought a variety of localization and content management topics to the table. On the first day, June 8, Joann Hackos, President of Comtech, led a session on the role of the OASIS DITA Standard in Translation Management. Participants learned what to expect when engaging with DITA content and how to efficiently work with organizations to support effective translation practices. Bill Hackos, PhD, Vice President of Comtech, also presented his views on DITA's influence on the cost structure of information-development organizations. Lastly, Keith Schengili-Roberts of AMD shared AMD's personal experience with DITA implementation through a detailed case study.

On day two, during CSOFT's Life Sciences localization segment, Inna Geller of Geller Translation Solutions discussed the advantages of applying preventative measures to the development phase of translation projects in order to achieve a sustainable, low-risk process.

In addition to the speakers noted above, CSOFT's executive team outlined its technology strategy for 2011 and unveiled new releases for TermWiki, the world's first social learning network. The site has close to 1.4 million terms and continues to expand across 1,200 domains in 75 languages.
