LuvGear(TM) Launches Canine Casting Call

MONTREAL, June 15, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Montreal-based LuvGear™ is launching a canine casting call in search of the new face of the Planet PETCO™ with LuvGear™ Technology line of apparel and accessories. The line was introduced in May exclusively though PETCO™ stores nationwide and is designed to help protect dogs from the dangers of heat by warning dog owners when the external temperatures are reaching levels that may be harmful or even fatal to a dog. The search for LuvGear's Top Dog photo contest begins June 1, 2011 and will run through June 30. The winner from each category (small dog and large dog) will be featured in a nationwide packaging promotion for LuvGear™ Technology.

Here's how it works:

  • Submit your photos: People who think their dog has super star quality can submit a photo to compete for the title. Submit a photo and select the proper category for each dog at . (Only one picture per dog can be submitted).

       There are two (2) categories based on dog sizes:

Category 1: XXS – M

Category 2: LG – XL

  • Selection: At the end of the contest, we'll pick the top ten dogs from each category. Then, the public will vote for their favorite picks at

The dog with the most votes in each category will be crowned LuvGear'stop dog.

  • Prizes: The Winner Gets Braggin' rights - plus, the winning dog from each category gets the following:
  • One-on-one face time with lifestyle pet photographer Seth Casteel, owner of Little Friends photography.
  • The select photo will grace the covers of a nationwide promotion for Planet PETCO™ with LuvGear™ Technology.
