WAYNE, Pa., June 20, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Octagon Research Solutions, Inc. announced today that it is previewing two novel additions to its Quantum Regulatory Information Management platform at the DIA 2011 47th Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.

Content Manager and Document Publisher join Submission Manager as the next applications built on Octagon's Quantum Platform. This new platform provides industry with a single, consolidated system to provide robust, highly scalable, and top tier capabilities to life science companies of all sizes.

The Quantum Content Manager Business Application provides process controls across the document lifecycle and offers a secure and collaborative environment for content creation, review and finalization.

The Quantum Document Publisher Business Application provides PDF (Portable Document Format) manipulation functionality supporting:

    • Document navigation and the creation and modification of bookmarks and hyperlinks
    • Document maintenance activities such as scaling, rotating and cropping
    • Document enhancements such as the application of headers, footers and pagination

Combined with Octagon's existing Submission Manager application, organizations have the capability to develop and publish content from a single, flexible, and pre-configured system.

"We are very pleased to be able to preview these two innovative business modules that leverage the strong process management capabilities of the Quantum platform," said James C. Walker, chairman and CEO, Octagon Research Solutions, Inc.  "Content Manager and Document Publisher address the challenges of managing the document lifecycle while improving the quality, consistency and value of the final content deliverables."

The two new business applications being demonstrated at DIA are integral components of Octagon's cloud strategy. Though the Quantum platform and business modules are available in a traditional on-premise installation, the release of these new modules enables Octagon to provide an end-to-end, cloud-based solution that joins document and submissions lifecycles in a hosted environment.

"The multi-tenant architecture of the Quantum platform provides a strong foundation for our cloud strategy," said Kirk Gallion, president, Octagon Research Solutions, Inc.  "Our innovative business applications layered on the Quantum platform offer a compelling cloud-based solution, while still providing the option for a traditional on- premise installation. These business applications extend the value of the platform and connect the dots between the document and submission lifecycle."

Octagon will preview the Content Manager and Document Publisher Business Applications as well as the existing Submission Manager Business Application at Exhibit Booth #329 at the DIA 47th 2011 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, June 20-23, 2011.
