A 20-year-old woman walking with a friend in Seattle early Tuesday was abducted from the street by an armed, masked man and an accomplice, police said.
A statement on the Seattle Police Department's website said the woman was bundled into a car, which then drove off, at about 1 a.m. local time.
Police said she was with a 19-year-old friend at the time of the attack, which took place at the 9700 block of Dayton Avenue North, in north Seattle.
"The pair was walking when 2 Hispanic males appeared from a darkened corner of the street," the police statement said.
"Suspect 1 grabbed the 20-yr-old victim and proceeded to pull her into the darkened area. Suspect 2 grabbed the 19-yr-old victim/witness and also attempted to pull her into the darkened area however, she fought him away," it added.
"Both suspects then focused their efforts on the 20-year-old victim and pulled her approximately 30 feet to a parked vehicle," the statement said.
The car then drove away, the police said.
Police said it was described as a light-colored, newer sedan with Washington plates. The license plate might contain the letters L and R and the number 4, they added.
The 20-year-old was later found safe in North Seattle and was taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said, according to The Seattle Times.
The suspects were described as two men in their 20s. Police said one attacker was armed with a handgun and wore a mask or face covering.
