Baby Clothing Network Introduces Baby Clothes for $1 an Item

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 22, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Baby Clothing Network, http://babyclothing.net, an online exchange service for moms with baby clothing, provides baby clothes for only $1 an item. Baby Clothing Network (BCN) connects moms with outgrown clothing for children between the ages of 0 and 5 years. Most moms are familiar with excess clothing in the early years of childhood as children rapidly outgrow their wardrobes. On BCN, moms join a community where high quality used clothes are simply shipped to the next owner. What's unique about BCN's approach is that moms aren't selling anything; they're simply sending clothes through the mail.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 22, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Baby Clothing Network, , an online exchange service for moms with baby clothing, provides baby clothes for only $1 an item.

BCN members list clothing "bundles" by age and gender. Each bundle contains between 10 and 25 items. A transaction resembles typical online purchases with the exception that only shipping & transaction fees are collected. The requesting mother pays for shipping and BCN sends the owner of the clothes a USPS flat rate shipping label. The clothes are then delivered via USPS Priority Mail.

Baby Clothing Network founder, Patrick Knauer: "The original concept behind Baby Clothing Network was a trade network where moms could exchange clothing for equal value using a credit system. What we've learned is that there are really only two primary factors that matter: confidence that the clothing is in good condition and cost. Cost is the most important factor. We've changed several aspects of our service in order to get to the right price. We added a lower cost shipping option, reduced our transaction fees, and made requirements that bundles have a certain number of items. By doing so our service now delivers baby clothes for $1 an item."

Baby Clothing Network also differs from other trade and online retailers by providing multiple communication tools. BCN members are able to easily request images, descriptions, brands or send private messages.

"Our new communication tools are designed to help moms feel confident," says Knauer. "We made communication tools a large part of the overall BCN service. We want an online service that is easy, quick and affordable. So it was essential that we streamline our service down to the core offerings. It takes moms about 2 minutes to build a bundle. Sending messages or requests on our new communication platform occurs in just seconds. It's a great service where moms can move quickly and comfortably."

Given current economic conditions and the growing trend of young families to implement pragmatic financial decisions, baby clothes for $1 is an obvious solution for parents today and likely to become a popular trend with families in the months and years to come.
