Millennials are more likely than older generations to protect their smartphones and tablets with security-related apps, according to data from Internet security firm Webroot.

Half of Millennials – those age 18 to 34 – have security apps installed on their mobile devices, such as locators that help you track lost or stolen devices or free mobile security apps.

The findings also revealed that older generations are at greater risk for security issues on their smartphones and tablets as nearly 50 percent of those 35 and older don't have any security installed.

"As the popularity of mobile devices continues to grow, it's critical consumers know it's just as, if not more important, to secure smartphones and tablets as it is to secure a PC," Webroot advised.
