Diana Nyad: Leaving the water ‘was devastating’

   Swimmer Diana Nyad was forced to end her fourth attempt to swim from Havana to Key West on Tuesday, suffering from exhaustion and hypothermia. She talks with TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie about her inability to conquer what she says is the most difficult obstacle: the jellyfish stings.

  Diana Nyad continues swim from Havana to Key West

Despite a sudden storm and painful jellyfish stings, swimmer Diana Nyad, 63, is determined to succeed at her fourth attempt to swim from Havana, Cuba, to Key West, Florida. NBC’s Mark Potter reports and Nyad’s operations chief, Mark Sollinger, tells TODAY she’s “moving in the right direction.”
