A woman in central Wisconsin had nearly 50 dogs infested with ringworm removed from her home.

Green Lake Animal Shelter manager Janine Ruback says an anonymous tip led authorities to the house.

The Green Lake area woman agreed to surrender 37 of the toy fox terriers and fox-terrier chihuahua mixes.

Her township allows for up to a dozen dogs without special licensing so the woman plans to retain ownership of 12 dogs.

Ruback tells The Reporter in Fond Du Lac the woman had done breeding in the past but was trying to end it but couldn't afford to spay or neuter them.

Ruback says the shelter will work with her to ensure the remaining 12 dogs are vaccinated and spayed and neutered.
