The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences today (April 10) announced the nominees for The 16th Annual Webby Awards, the Oscars of the digital world. Webby award categories cover Websites, interactive advertising & media, online film & video, and mobile & apps. Each category has been whittled down to five nominees, with some interesting matchups.   Under the umbrella of best Websites, Google+ goes up against  Pinterest   in social media, Spotify challenges Pandora in music and College Humor takes on Funny or Die in — you guessed it — Humor.  In all, awards are given in more than 100 categories. Watch highlights from this year's nominees:     This year's judges include Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, musician David Bowie and  Instagram  founder Kevin Systrom. Winners will be announced May 1 with a follow-up red carpet event on May 21 in New York City. But unlike  Oscar winners  who have been cut-off mid-acceptance speech, the Webby tradition limits winners to five words — a Twitter-like version Haiku. Last year, Lego Star Wars III - Webby winners said: "May the force be with." Five words, that's it.   The Webby Awards also feature "People's Voice" awards.  Voting starts today  (April 10) and runs through April 26.   Viewers can watch The 16th Annual Webby Awards LIVE in HD on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. ET at www.webbyawards.com.
