Apple released a new update today (May 7) for its mobile operating system that addresses Safari and photo taking bugs on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The minor update, to iOS 5.1.1, fixes a glitch in the way Apple's mobile devices sync Safari bookmarks and Reading lists, Macworld reported. The new iOS also allows users to more reliably take HDR (high-dynamic range) photos from the lock screen, fixes bugs in AirPlay video playback and addresses an issue that prevented the third-generation iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks.
The new iOS 5.1.1 also fixes a flaw that displayed an "Unable to purchase" message after a user successfully purchased something on the device.
The mobile software update can be downloaded directly on the Apple device by choosing "Settings," then clicking "General" and "Software Update."
