The owners of iPhones are fiercely loyal to their smartphones, sometimes at the expense of friends and lovers. A survey of iPhone owners who've turned in at least one iPhone on Gazelle, a site that gives cash for used electronics, revealed just how deep the relationship is between owner and device.   When asked which device or platform they would not be able to live without, 65 percent chose  iPhone , leaving Facebook in the dust at a sorry 1 percent. Owners of iPhones have cut their ties with other devices such as iPods or other MP3 players, pocket cameras and GPS units because the iPhone fills all these functions, Gazelle said.   But it's not only other devices that have suffered. Nearly 15 percent of respondents said they'd rather give up sex — forever — than go for even a weekend without their iPhone. More than a quarter of owners said that they "almost always" use their  iPhone during meals  and other social gatherings. Less than 20 percent find the company around them more interesting than what pops up on their phone displays.   But the iPhone isn't perfect. Like a jealous lover, owners want more in the next iPhone, expected to become available this fall. Topping the list is a bigger screen, no doubt to keep up with rival  Android owners . Does half an inch really make that much of a difference?   If you're feeling lucky, Gazelle this week launched a promotion to celebrate the iPhone's fifth birthday that falls on June 29. A birthday wish made on Gazelle's Facebook page could win you a $2,500 shopping spree in the Apple Store — now that's enough for a new  MacBook Pro Retina Display . Your iPhone may get jealous.
