Facebook 'Edit Comments' Falls Short

Facebook last night (June 21) began rolling out a handy little feature — the ability to edit comments you make to posts. But here's the catch — once you've published your corrected comment, anyone who can see it will also see that it's been edited.   We've all been there. Chalk it up to enthusiasm or sloppy typing, but it can be embarrassing to post a comment with a typo. Until now, your only choices were to let it go or delete your comment and start over.   Try it for yourself: Type in a comment, post and hover your cursor over the comment box. Click on the pencil to see your option to edit.   A note appears under your comment showing the time it was edited, along with an "Edited" link to see what was changed. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?    For now, editing seems to be a bit buggy. After editing Silt Lake City to

After editing Silt Lake City to  Salt Lake City  multiple times, the edit didn't stick.   The  new feature  is a step in the right direction, but should be extended to other interactions. How about the ability to edit an update on your own page or edit a post to a friend's newsfeed? And please, no editing history — might as well just opt for delete and try again.
