Add details about the event and a photo. The page may be shared on Facebook, Twitter or selected contacts.   Asking guests to  contribute to an organization  that's near and dear to the honoree is an established practice. While few would quibble with a request to donate to cancer research instead of a traditional gift, making a contribution to a political campaign could rub some guests the wrong way. According to Emily Post online, "In the end, the choice of gift is always up to the giver."
