The Kentucky Republican has just a meager 37% approval rating and a 55% disapproval rating among voters in his state.

Mitch McConnell is the Senate’s biggest loser.

The Senate Minority Leader has the lowest job approval rating among 90 members of the Senate, according to a new survey by Public Policy Polling.

The Kentucky Republican has just a meager 37% approval rating and a 55% disapproval rating among voters in his state.

PPP said McConnell had the worst numbers compared to his peers, taking the Hall of Shame title from Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb.

Among Republicans, McConnell had a 59% approval rating, compared to 33% among independents and 23% among Democrats.

It isn’t all terrible news for McConnell, who’s up for reelection in 2014.

The survey showed the fifth-term senator would narrowly defeat actress Ashley Judd, who is reportedly considering running for McConnell’s post, 47% to 43%.

Reelection is clearly in the front of McConnell’s mind. According to the Courier-Journal, the GOPer recently sent an email to potential campaign supporters saying “As I lead the fight against his dangerous debt scheme, Barack Obama has placed a huge target squarely on my back. As I fight for you, I need your generous support to fight off his attacks.”
