Hurray for the 60-second travel video. Expedia today (Jan. 29) released an app for Facebook that turns a few of your travel photos into a pretty nifty video.

Your video includes sound, a few slide transitions and a zoom-in map, compliments of an integration with Google Earth. You can select up to 10 photos from Facebook and Instagram (something positive from the Facebook's purchase of  Instagram ) to include in your travelogue. Add a title and fill in Expedia's prompt that asks you to use a word or phrase to describe how your trip "changed your life." Don't get stuck here, you can just name a highlight of your trip. Choose from four soundtracks and you're done.

Expedia's app has not yet appeared in Facebook's app store, but you can find it at, which is a page on Facebook. The video maker has potential, but tends to lag. Editing is limited to adding an additional location and rearranging the order of your photos. You can share to your  Facebook timeline .

We'd like to see Expedia add a few features, such as the ability to add titles to photos and share to other networks and via email. And, how about making it a real app available in the App Store and Google Play?
