It looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again … this time on the mobile front.

The Pokémon Company has launched a free interactive app for both iOS and Android, which enables fans of the "Pokémon" franchise to watch episodes of the popular animated show from the convenience of their smartphones and tablets

Titled "Pokémon TV," this app will feature a weekly rotation of 50 fan-favorite episodes from the series, from early episodes where Pokémon trainer Ash first meets his soon-to-be best friend, a lightning-powered creature named Pikachu, to later story arcs, such as "Mastermind" and "The Johto Journeys." The episodes are divided into specific seasons and regions, so fans will have no problem finding their favorites.

In addition, "Pokémon TV" will act as a hub for special events and "Pokémon"-themed movies, which will also be on rotation. The latest animated film, "Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice," will be available from February 15th through the 18th. As part of the promotion for "Pokémon TV," an exclusive new program, "Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade," will also make its U.S. debut on the app, starting on the 15th. The app can be downloaded for free.

"Pokémon" is still thriving in popularity, with The Pokémon Company recently debuting its 16th season of the animated series, "Pokémon: BW Adventures In Unova," on Cartoon Network. Nintendo, maker of the popular "Pokémon"games, is also quite busy, producing "Pokémon X & Y" for a release on Nintendo 3DS this fall, as well as aversion of its hit Wii game "Pokémon Rumble" for the Nintendo Wii U.
