The cost of flying to many popular U.S. cities has actually dropped since this time last year, mostly due to low demand. Flights to Chicago are down the most at 18.5% of last year's average cost.

The cost of flying to many popular U.S. cities has actually dropped since this time last year, mostly due to low demand. Orbitz took a look at just how steep that drop was. Here’s what they found:

  • Flights to Miami are down about 7%
  • Flights to Honolulu are down more than 10%
  • Flights to New York City and New Orlenas are down by 11%
  • Flights to Denver and Washington, D.C. fell 13.6%
  • Flights to Chicago are down the most at 18.5%
