On Monday’s Very Last Word, MSNBC’s Joy Reid, Ari Melber, and Richard Wolffe discussed the espionage act–how many have been charged during the Obama administration and before, how severe the sentencing can be, and whether or not it should apply to leakers like Edward Snowden.

“I think the whole thing is bad management, bad atmospherics, maybe bad advice,” said Joy Reid. “Snowden would have probably maintained a lot more ‘hero status’ among a lot of Americans who care about the civil liberties information had he stayed here and just lawyered up.”
