BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syria's deputy foreign minister said on Friday the government had decided to participate in the second round of peace talks in the Swiss city of Geneva, state television reported.

"The participation of the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Geneva conference in the second round of talks next Monday has been decided," Syrian television said, quoting Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
