A woman and her two young children were found slain at the home of her brother, who had run onto a highway hours earlier and was struck by a dump truck, according to authorities.

Tricia Doyle, 30, her daughter, Gillian, 4, and 2-year-old son, James, were found dead Monday night at the home of Doyle’s brother, Chris Bernard.

Police called the deaths homicides but declined to say how the three died pending autopsy results expected Thursday. There had been no arrests, and authorities declined to comment on what might have happened.

About three hours before the bodies were found, Bernard, 35, was struck by a dump truck on I-93. He was later released from a hospital.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin would not comment on Bernard’s release Wednesday, except to say no arrest had been made.

Strelzin said police went to Bernard’s house to check on someone’s welfare and found the bodies. He would not say who requested the check.

Bernard owned the home with his wife, Kim.

A woman who answered the phone at the Hooksett home of Tricia Doyle and her husband Robert declined to comment. Bernard’s mother, Patricia Bernard, declined to talk when reached by phone.

“He’s in shock,” neighbor Brent Gagne said of Robert Doyle. “The poor guy’s lost everything.”

Gagne said Doyle returned from work Monday to an empty house and called neighbors asking if they had seen his wife, an Elliot Hospital employee, and children. Gagne said he suggested Doyle call 911.

Hooksett police said they received a call from Doyle Monday night but would not discuss the call.
