The matriarch of five generations of a British family had reason to keep count when the latest addition to her brood arrived this week.
The birth of a great-great-grandchild took Kathleen Harvey’s descendants to 93 — matching her age.
It was the nonagenarian’s third great-great-grandchild to arrive in the past five weeks. And according to Harvey’s daughter Tanya Doherty, 54, this was as special in the great-great-grandmother’s eyes as the 92 descendants who preceded it.
“She loves them all, she’s wonderful with them,” Doherty said.
Harvey’s family, many of whom live in her hometown of Newport in southern Wales, hires a local hall for its annual Christmas gathering.
The expanding family looks set to keep match with Harvey’s increasing years. With a 94th birthday looming in 2005, there’s another baby due in December.
