CAIRO, Egypt — You no longer have to be Egyptian to work as a belly dancer in Egypt.
The government has reversed a decision that barred foreigners from working as dancers in the country that is widely regarded as the home of belly dancing.
The ban was imposed last year amid complaints from local performers that non-Egyptians were taking away their jobs.
Some foreign dancers say they were brought back by popular demand. They also cited a lack of high-quality Egyptian performers.
