“A Concert For Hurricane Relief” Available Live Online at MSNBC.com
MSNBC.com to host exclusive online auction to raise additional relief funds

For immediate release—In response to the hurricane tragedy, MSNBC.com, in conjunction with the Networks of NBC, will offer “A Concert For Hurricane Relief” live at www.hurricane.msnbc.com tonight at 8:00pm ET.  Presented as a benefit for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the concert, hosted by Matt Lauer, features performers and presenters with ties to the affected areas including Harry Connick, Jr., Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Wynton Marsalis, Aaron Neville, Leonardo DiCaprio, Governor Pataki and John Goodman, among others. Viewers will be encouraged to donate to the American Red Cross in support of its hurricane relief at www.redcross.org and 1-800-HELPNOW.  The concert can also be seen live on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. 

To raise additional funds, MSNBC.com will have an exclusive online auction featuring a Gibson guitar, signed during the concert by all the performers and presenters.  The guitar, a Les Paul Standard with a1960’s-style neck was donated by Gibson and is valued at $3248 without the autographs.  The auction begins during the concert broadcast and ends on September 9.
