Ohio Governor John Kasich will join Chuck Todd this Sunday, amid new speculation that he will run for president. The Northeast Ohio Media Group reported Thursday the second-term republican governor is soon to announce a national political committee—which is a step towards running for the presidency. This committee is not a formal candidacy announcement, but will allow Kasich to raise money at a national level. This is not the first time Kasich has made a move towards a presidential run—he formed an exploratory committee in 1999, but dropped out before the Iowa Straw Poll.
Kasich appeared on Meet the Press several times as a congressman and governor. He served as Chairman of the House Budget Committee from 1995-2001, and has been Governor of Ohio since 2011.
