Dev Patel’s next role could be another formula for success. The “Slumdog Millionaire” actor will star alongside Academy Award-winner Jeremy Irons in a biopic about Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, Variety reported.

Filming is set to begin early August at Trinity College in Cambridge, United Kingdom on the production titled “The Man Who Knew Infinity,” helmed by writer and director Matthew Brown. This is the biggest breakthrough for the biopic about the Indian math genius, which already has been eight years in the works.

Ramanujan, played by Patel, was born in the late 1800s in Tamil Nadu and became a math prodigy by the time he was a teenager. Irons will portray G.H. Hardy, an Englishman who discovered Ramanujan’s talent and brought him to Cambridge University. At the esteemed British school, Ramanujan’s talents grew, and he eventually became a fellow at Trinity College before succumbing to an illness at the age of 32. The film is expected to be released late next year, but no official date has been announced.
