This week marks one year since we launched NBC Asian America. In the past twelve months, we've tried our best to represent the depth and diversity of the fastest-growing group in America, to elevate the voices and issues of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, and to bring you the stories that matter most to you.

By reading our stories, watching our videos, and sharing our content, you - in turn - have helped us to grow into one of the largest English-language, Asian-American news sources in the country, with 30 percent growth month-to-month, and an average of 1.5 million views each month.

Amna Nawaz

Amna Nawaz is the editor of NBCNews.com's Asian America. She was previously NBC News' Islamabad bureau chief/correspondent, reporting for the network from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the region. 

In a decade with NBC News, Nawaz has reported for all network, cable, and digital platforms from around the world and across the United States. Before joining NBC's foreign coverage team, she reported for the network's Investigative Unit in Washington, D.C. 

Nawaz is a member of the South Asian Journalists Association and the Asian American Journalists Association, and has been recognized with an Emmy award, a National Headliner award, and an International Reporting Fellowship. 

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the London School of Economics, she lives in New York with her husband and daughter.
