Three women and a man were found shot dead "execution style" in a home on the crime-ridden west side of Indianapolis on Tuesday morning, police said.

A female homeowner arrived at the house around 9:30 a.m. ET and discovered the four bodies inside, said Indianapolis Metro Police spokesman Chris Wilburn. Police were continuing to search for any suspects.

Wilburn said that officers found televisions turned over, signs of a forced entry and four adults who were shot in "some sort of execution style."

Investigators don't yet know the relationship between the victims and the homeowner or whether any of the victims lived at the house, Wilburn told reporters at a news conference.

Many who live in the neighborhood told NBC affiliate WTHR that they weren't surprised by the violence because drug dealing is prevalent in the area.

Wilburn called the neighborhood "volatile," but added: "We won’t abandon a geographic area, a zip code or a people group. That’s not what we signed up for."
