Iraqi legislator Vian Dahkil is seen by many as the last and only hope for her people — the Yazidis. The 42-year-old regularly fields calls from women and girls captured by ISIS and begging for help, and works with Kurdish security forces and an underground network of activists to try and rescue them. 2. Putin Asks France Where Russia Should Bomb

Russian President Vladimir Putin asked France to draw up a map of where groups fighting ISIS militants operate in Syria in order not to bomb them, France's foreign minister said Friday. 3. France Mourns ‘130 Voiced Killed Forever’

The names of the victims of the terror attacks in Paris were read out during a memorial service in the French capital on Friday. 4. Ice Storm Poses Black Friday Headache

A blast of cold air was threatening to whip up a Black Friday ice storm across the center of the country, forecasters said. 5. Online Sales Surge Amid Black Friday Hoopla

Throngs of shoppers gave Thanksgiving thanks for sturdy shoes, hefty overcoats and warm tents as they lined up outside stores and journeyed to malls across America to make sure they got the best deals on annual Black Friday sales.
