The death toll from the earthquake in Nepal has climbed past 3,600, and aid agencies say it will be higher once rescuers reach isolated rural areas, including whole villages perched on the sides of mountains. Read more in NEWS.

6. For-profit college chain closing 28 schools

It’s believed to be the biggest shutdown in the history of American higher education: A company called Corinthian Colleges is closing its remaining 28 for-profit schools, putting 16,000 students out of school. Read more in NEWS.
