1. Caught Inmate David Sweat Says One Worker Involved in Escape

New York prison escapee David Sweat, who was shot and detained Sunday, has told investigators that seamstress Joyce Mitchell was the only prison worker involved in the breakout that led law enforcement on a weeks-long manhunt. Mitchell and corrections officer Gene Palmer have been charged, but Palmer said he had no advanced knowledge of the plot. Read more in NEWS.

2. Greece Nears Almost Certain Default on Debt

Greece will likely default on a 1.6-billion-euro bond payment that's due Tuesday. The nation's banks closed last weekend and voters will decide on Sunday whether to face more austerity or accept the possibility of being removed from Europe's currency union. Read more in NEWS.

3. Obama to Expand Overtime Pay to Nearly 5 Million Workers

President Barack Obama is set to announce a change to the overtime pay law that will significantly add to the amount of people who earn increased pay for more than 40 hours of work. The proposed rule will raise the threshold for guaranteed overtime pay from a salary of $23,660 to $50,440, which will boost wages for nearly 5 million people. Read more in NEWS.

4. Suicide Bomber Hits Foreign Convoy in Kabul

A car bomb struck a NATO convoy in central Kabul at the end of the workday Tuesday. Kabul police chief Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi said the "barbaric attack [was] carried out by the enemies of peace in this holy month of Ramadan." Read more in NEWS.

5. Dozens Killed After Indonesian Military Plane Crashes Into Hotel

At least 30 people were killed when a military plane crashed into a hotel and residential area in the Indonesian city of Medan Tuesday. There were 62 people aboard the C-130 Hercules, which went down shortly after takeoff, according to Indonesian media. Read more in NEWS.

6. Reward Doubled Amid Fears of Possible Ohio Serial Killer

Four women have been killed and two others have disappeared in just a little over a year in a rural Ohio county, sparking fears that there might be a serial killer on the loose. The FBI has joined investigators in searching Chillicothe and Ross Counties since the body of Tiffany Sayre, 26, was discovered last week. On Monday, the reward money for information useful to the investigation was raised from $2,500 to $5,000 per victim. Read more in NEWS.

7. NBC Dumps Trump After Immigration Remarks

Donald Trump's controversial remarks on immigrants during his presidential campaign announcement have led NBC to cut business ties with him. That means the network will no longer air the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
